What is PanenDeism?
PanenDeism is a modern, "upgraded" version of the spiritual cosmology known as Classic Deism and is defined as "The doctrine that all of physical reality (the "universe") exists within the Deity and is created by a "projective" evolutionary process that is on-going, self-evolving and ultimately co-creative in nature.

What do you mean by a "Projective" evolutionary process?
PanenDeism teaches that the "everywhere-present", Creative Intelligence that we call "Deity" exists in a distinct state of Being that "precedes" the three-dimensional, objective nature of the physical universe. Before the "Big Bang", all that existed was the One.  Creation occurs through a process where the Deity "projects" Divine Purpose as a creative and self-evolving, Consciousness that underlies all matter and animates all life forms in varying degrees of Freedom. The higher the level of self-awareness the life-form has developed, the more co-creative (or, "self-creative") this process becomes.

Is PanenDeism a religion?
No. Every major religion is based upon some basic concept or idea (a "cosmology") of what the followers of that particular religion believe the nature of Deity (God) is.  The religion (or "faith  tradition"), itself, is built upon this underlying philosophy or cosmology.  We believe that PanenDeism offers an understanding of the nature of the universe and of its Creator that is in closer alignment to what we know to be true in science and quantum physics than what can be found in any other cosmology offered thus far.

What is "Experiential Metaphysics"?
Experiential Metaphysics means "experiencing that which goes beyond the physical"; and is the distinquishing characteristic that separates PanenDeism from the dry, sterile "taste" of classic Deism.  Although science and rationality provides us with a solid foundation upon which to build, we understand that Reason can only take us so far.  Consciousness involves far more than what we can see and measure.  Therefore, a cosmology that does not leave room for the mystical is unfulfilling and incomplete. PanenDeism offers a Deistic understanding of the Divine; while also embracing an experiential relationship to Deity.

What is TransDeism?
Transcendent Deism ("TransDeism") is a proposed "faith tradition" that Larry Copling has developed that is based upon the ideas offered in PanenDeism.  It is an open-ended, development project that attempts to provide a model of Deistic spirituality that Larry refers to as "experiential metaphysics in action!"  Please visit the PanenDeism Forum for more information or to participate in discussions about TransDeism.


Do the ideas of PanenDeism go beyond Spirituality?
We believe they do.  PanenDeism describes the nature, or essence, of All-That-Is.  The implication of this is that all knowlege is related or connected at some level; since everything proceeds from the same Source Energy.  What we believe about the nature of God informs our understanding of the nature of man; which informs our understanding of the proper role of society; which informs our understanding of the proper role of government, etc. Just as the dedicated Christian applies his/her spiritual worldview to his/her political positions, a Deistic understanding of the world can also inform the political views of a Deist (or PanenDeist). 

What is TranCervatism?
Transcendent Conservatism ("TransCervatism") is a PanenDeistic, "neo-libertarian" approach to the social ethic proposed by Larry Copling. Instead of the traditional, "left-right", democrat-republican approach to politics, a TransCervative considers only a "Freedom/Constraint" duality as societal extremes.  To the extent that we, as a society or as an individual, can engage in Self-ownership and complete freedom to live our lives, raise our children, or run our businesses, without the constraint of the State, we can self-evolve and co-create (with Deity) a rich and technological society that is virtually unlimited in potential.
